Titanium Grade 7 Plate - Superior Corrosion Resistance for Demanding Industrial Applications

Baoji Jucheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., based in China's Titanium Valley, manufactures titanium grade 7 plate (UNS R52400) with 0.12%-0.25% palladium content for critical chemical processing environments. With a yearly inventory of around 3,000 tons and more than 20 years of experience in titanium manufacture, our company produces plates with thicknesses between 4 and 80 mm, widths between 950 and 2500 mm, and lengths up to 10,000 mm. Our 120,000-square-meter manufacturing plant has full production capabilities, including precision finishing and melting. Our titanium plate is prepared by rolling, annealing, leveling, pickling, and surface finishing to maintain consistent quality for applications where normal grades cannot tolerate reducing acid conditions. It satisfies ASTM B265, ASTM F67, and ASME SB265 standards.

Key Industrial Applications

Chemical Processing Equipment

This material's resistance to crevice corrosion under gaskets and continuously wetted surfaces helps your reactors, storage tanks, and shell-and-tube heat exchangers handling corrosive acids. Where ordinary titanium would deteriorate due to pH and temperature changes, you preserve structural integrity.

Desalination and Salt Production

Flash distillation chambers and brine heaters operating above 260°C require the enhanced protection this grade provides. You prevent localized chloride attack in tight crevices that would otherwise compromise system integrity and efficiency.

Hydrometallurgical Processing

Electrolytic cells for metal recovery utilize this plate as a substrate for Dimensionally Stable Anodes (DSA). You ensure consistent electrical conductivity in highly acidic anolyte environments, extending anode operational lifespan and reducing replacement frequency.

Why Choose Titanium Grade 7 Plate?

Exceptional Corrosion Resistance in Reducing Acids

This substance solves a significant industrial problem where commercially pure titanium falls short. In situations with diluted sulfuric and hydrochloric acid, the palladium addition offers exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. You avoid early equipment breakdown by obtaining dependable performance at high temperatures and low pH levels.

Extended Service Life in Harsh Environments

This titanium grade 7 plate stops the localized chloride attack that damages regular titanium when your application includes temperatures higher than 260°C or small spaces in corrosive fluids. Compared to Grade 2 alternatives, you drastically lower maintenance expenses and downtime.

Cost-Effective Alternative to Exotic Alloys

While more expensive than commercially pure grades, our product offers substantial savings compared to nickel-based superalloys. You achieve comparable corrosion resistance at lower material and fabrication costs, particularly in applications requiring large surface areas.

FAQ

Q: What distinguishes Grade 7 titanium plate from Grade 2?

A: In reducing acid conditions, the inclusion of 0.12%–0.25% palladium greatly improves corrosion resistance. Grade 7 stops crevice corrosion and pitting in diluted acids at high temperatures where Grade 2 would fail, although Grade 2 does well in oxidizing environments like seawater.

Q: What is this material's maximum service temperature?

A: Continuous service is reliable up to 260°C in seawater applications. In specific acid environments with controlled pH, it can handle higher temperatures depending on concentration and crevice geometry. Consult our technical team for your specific operating conditions.

Q: Can you provide custom dimensions beyond standard specifications?

A: Yes, we offer customized manufacturing based on your technical drawings and engineering specifications. Our facilities accommodate special width, length, and thickness requirements to match your equipment design needs.

Q: Is this material weldable?

A: Absolutely. It exhibits excellent weldability using GTAW (TIG) or PAW methods. Proper inert gas shielding with argon or helium on both weld face and root prevents atmospheric contamination and ensures joint integrity matching base material properties.

Q: How quickly can you deliver for urgent projects?

A: Our 3,000-ton inventory enables fast response times. Standard dimensions ship within days, while custom specifications depend on processing requirements. Contact us with your timeline, and we'll provide a specific delivery schedule.
