Pipe Stub Ends Titanium: High-Performance Piping Solution

Based in China's Titanium Valley, Baoji Jucheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. provides enterprise-grade pipe stub ends titanium stub ends that are designed in accordance with ASME B16.9 and ASTM B363 standards. With more than 500 sets of titanium equipment produced annually and more than 20 years of manufacturing experience, our stub ends achieve tensile strengths ranging from 345 MPa to 485 MPa spanning Gr1, Gr2, Gr5, Gr7, Gr9, and Gr12 grades. Keeping 3,000 tons of titanium on hand all year long guarantees prompt delivery for pressing projects. Our components are perfect for marine, chemical, and offshore applications demanding outstanding corrosion resistance and strength-to-weight performance because they have machined sealing faces with Ra 3.2-6.3µm surface polish and a density of 4.51 g/cm³—60% lighter than steel.

What Are Pipe Stub Ends Titanium?

Titanium are specialized butt-weld fittings designed for use with lap joint flanges in industrial piping systems.

These components consist of a short titanium pipe section with one flared end serving as the gasket seating surface. The opposite end is prepared for direct welding to your pipeline.

The design separates functions intelligently. The titanium stub end contacts the process fluid, while a backing flange—made from carbon steel or stainless steel—provides bolting load.

This configuration solves two critical challenges you face. First, it dramatically reduces material costs by limiting expensive titanium to the wetted surface only. Second, the rotating backing flange eliminates bolt-hole alignment issues during installation.

You gain cost efficiency without compromising corrosion protection where it matters most.

Superior Material Properties

Titanium stub ends rely on a self-healing TiO2 passive film for corrosion protection.

This oxide layer provides near-immunity to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments. Performance exceeds 316L stainless steel significantly.

Grade 2 offers balanced strength and formability for general applications. Grade 7 incorporates palladium for extreme reducing acid conditions. Grade 12 uses molybdenum-nickel alloys for high-temperature service.

The thermal expansion coefficient remains lower than stainless steel. This ensures better dimensional stability when your system experiences temperature fluctuations.

You receive components available in multiple schedules—Sch 10S, 40S, and 80S—to match your pressure requirements precisely.

Key Industry Applications

Marine and Desalination Systems

In seawater cooling circuits and reverse osmosis plants, our pipe stub ends titanium resist aggressive brine corrosion. High-salinity environments cause rapid failure in traditional materials, but titanium maintains integrity for 20+ years.

Chemical and Petrochemical Processing

Production of urea, chlorine, and organic acids demands materials that withstand highly oxidizing media. These stub ends provide longevity where conventional alloys degrade quickly.

Offshore Energy Platforms

Subsea oil and gas applications benefit from the 60% weight reduction compared to steel. Lower structural loads on floating platforms combine with immunity to marine growth and salt spray for minimal maintenance requirements.

FAQ

Q: What is the lead time for custom orders?

A: Our 3,000-ton inventory enables fast standard product delivery within 7-10 days. Custom specifications typically require 3-4 weeks depending on complexity and quantity.

Q: Can you provide mill test certificates?

A: Yes, we supply full material traceability documentation including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property test reports, and compliance certificates for ASTM B363 and ASME B16.9 standards.

Q: Which grade suits chloride-rich environments best?

A: Grade 2 performs excellently in most chloride applications. For extremely aggressive reducing acids, Grade 7 with palladium addition offers enhanced protection.

Q: Do you offer surface finish customization?

A: Absolutely. Beyond standard machined and pickled finishes, we provide sandblasting, electropolishing, and specific Ra values per your gasket sealing requirements.

Q: What testing methods verify quality?

A: We conduct ultrasonic testing, radiographic inspection, dye penetrant testing, dimensional verification, and hardness testing to ensure defect-free components meeting your specifications.
