Titanium 90 Degree Elbow - High-Performance Piping Fittings

With more than 20 years of specialized experience, Baoji Jucheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., situated in China's Titanium Valley, produces enterprise-grade titanium 90 degree elbow fittings. Our fittings, which range in size from 1/2" to 48" (DN15-DN1200), precisely adhere to ASTM B363 and ASME B16.9 requirements. We provide seamless elbows up to 24 inches and welded designs up to 8 inches, with an annual manufacturing capacity of more than 500 pieces of titanium equipment and a year-round stockpile of 3,000 tons of titanium.

Every fitting is put through a thorough 100% radiography test for welded kinds and an ultrasonic check for seamless versions. Gr1, Gr2, Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Gr7, Gr9, and Gr12 are among our grades that are handled by either plate-forming with automated TIG welding or precision extrusion-pushing.

Quality Assurance Process

Material Verification

Handheld XRF spectrometry confirms chemical composition meets exact Grade requirements. Iron and oxygen levels undergo positive material identification before processing begins.

You receive certified materials traceable to mill test reports. No guesswork about alloy integrity.

Dimensional Accuracy

Center-to-face distance, outside diameter, and wall thickness tolerances verify fit-up precision. Every measurement aligns with ASME B16.9 dimensional standards.

Installation proceeds smoothly without field modifications. Your project timelines stay on schedule.

Non-Destructive Testing

Welded elbows receive 100% radiographic testing to detect internal porosity or lack of fusion. Seamless variants undergo ultrasonic testing for wall thickness uniformity.

Hidden defects get identified before shipment. Only fittings meeting strict criteria reach your facility.

Surface Inspection

Dye penetrant inspection reveals surface cracks, laps, or seams invisible to visual examination. This critical step prevents failure initiation points.

Surface integrity matches internal quality. Complete confidence in long-term performance.

Key Applications

Marine & Offshore Engineering

Seawater cooling systems and desalination plants demand materials that resist salt spray and high-velocity brine. Our titanium 90 degree elbow fittings deliver proven performance where traditional alloys fail.

Constant exposure never compromises structural integrity. Your offshore installations operate continuously without corrosion-related shutdowns.

Chemical & Petrochemical Processing

Reactors and heat exchangers handling wet chlorine, nitric acid, and aggressive organic chlorides require absolute chemical stability. The passive oxide layer provides a permanent barrier.

Process safety improves dramatically. No contamination risks from corroded fittings entering your product streams.

Aerospace & High-Performance Systems

Lightweight exhaust manifolds and hydraulic lines benefit from the exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Fuel efficiency increases while heat dissipation improves under extreme vibration.

Your systems perform optimally even during rapid thermal cycling. Reliability remains consistent across mission-critical operations.

Why Choose Our Titanium 90 Degree Elbow

Superior Resistance to Corrosion

When exposed to oxygen, the self-healing TiO₂ oxide layer immediately forms. This passive film is resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in the presence of seawater, wet chlorine, nitric acid, and organic chlorides.

Even in the most extreme chemical and marine environments, your piping system is unharmed. No expensive downtime or regular replacements.

Better Ratio of Strength to Weight

Our fittings dramatically reduce structural load at a density of only 4.51 g/cm³, which is about 60% lighter than steel. For Grade 2, tensile strength varies between 345 and 485 MPa.

This combination minimizes weight while supporting high-pressure applications. Perfect for offshore platforms and aerospace hydraulics, where every kilogram counts.

Longer Service Life

The remarkable ductility and high melting point of 1668°C guarantee performance at both extreme heat and cryogenic temperatures. Throughout temperature cycling, impact toughness does not change.

Decades of dependable functioning are at your advantage. less expensive overall than conventional alloys, which deteriorate quickly.

FAQ

Q: What differentiates seamless from welded degree elbow fittings?

A: Seamless elbows come from extruded billets and suit high-pressure/temperature applications with critical loads. Welded elbows form from plate with a single seam—cost-effective for low-to-medium pressure lines after passing 100% X-ray inspection.

Q: Can I directly connect these elbows to stainless steel piping?

A: Direct contact in electrolyte environments like seawater causes galvanic corrosion. The stainless steel becomes an anode and corrodes rapidly while protecting the titanium cathode. Always use flange isolation kits for dissimilar metal connections.

Q: How should I choose between Long Radius and Short Radius configurations?

A: Select Long Radius (1.5D) for standard piping to minimize pressure drop and fluid turbulence. Choose Short Radius (1.0D) only when space constraints are severe, accepting higher friction and pressure loss.

Q: Do these fittings require post-weld heat treatment?

A: Per ASTM B363, stress-relieving heat treatment after forming removes residual stresses and restores ductility. This prevents delayed hydriding or cracking during service.

Q: Why is Grade 2 the most common alloy specification?

A: Grade 2 balances corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, and cost optimally. While Grade 5 offers higher strength, it's harder to form into elbow shapes and less resistant to certain corrosive environments than Commercially Pure Grade 2.
