Titanium Pipe Reducer – Engineered for Corrosion-Free Industrial Transitions

Baoji Jucheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., a NEEQ-listed enterprise with over 20 years of titanium manufacturing expertise, produces industrial-grade titanium pipe reducer fittings that meet ASME B16.9 and GB/T 27684 standards. Every year, our facility produces more than 500 sets of titanium equipment and keeps 3,000 tons of titanium in stock.

Gr1, Gr2, Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Gr7, Gr9, and Gr12 titanium alloys are used in the construction of these reducers. The size range is 3/4 x 1/2 x 48 x 40 (DN20 x 15 to DN1200 x 1000). There are two types of configurations: concentric and eccentric. Options for wall thickness range from Sch 10S to Sch 80S. Grade 2 material has a tensile strength of 275–450 MPa and a density of only 4.51 g/cm³, making it 60% lighter than steel equivalents.

Industries We Serve

Marine Engineering: Desalination plants and offshore platforms require corrosion immunity in constant seawater exposure. Our reducers eliminate galvanic corrosion between dissimilar pipe materials.

Chemical Processing: Zero-corrosion allowance design is necessary for aggressive media handling. Titanium reducers are resistant to chlorinated chemicals, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid.

Aerospace: Fuel efficiency and payload capacity are directly impacted by weight reduction. Titanium reducers are perfect for aircraft hydraulic systems since they are 60% lighter than steel.

Pharmaceutical: Non-contaminating materials are necessary for clean-in-place (CIP) systems. Strict hygienic requirements for handling biological fluids are met by pickled and polished surfaces.

Configuration Types for Your Application

Concentric reducers share a common centerline between inlet and outlet. Use these in vertical pipeline configurations where symmetrical flow distribution prevents turbulence.

Eccentric reducers feature offset centerlines with one flat side. Your horizontal pump suction lines benefit from this design. The flat-bottom configuration prevents air pocket formation and eliminates cavitation risks at pump inlets.

Why Choose Titanium Reducers Over Conventional Materials

When exposed to organic acids, moist chlorine, and chlorides, traditional steel reducers fail catastrophically. Galvanic corrosion and erosion-corrosion are ongoing threats to your piping system that could cause unscheduled shutdowns.

Our titanium pipe reducer forms a spontaneous TiO₂ protective oxide film upon air exposure. This barrier offers zero-corrosion performance in oxidizing acids, chlorinated conditions, and saltwater. You reduce the Total Cost of Ownership by doing away with replacement cycles.

The material can endure temperatures as high as the melting point of 1668°C. Structural integrity is not jeopardized by thermal cycling. Titanium's non-brittle properties at extremely low temperatures is advantageous for cryogenic applications.

FAQ

Q: For high-pressure applications, what wall thickness should I specify?

A: ASME Class 2500 pressure ratings are handled by Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) material in Sch 40S or Sch 80S. Based on operational pressure, temperature, and fluid characteristics, your design engineer should determine unique requirements.

Q: What is the mechanism by which eccentric reducers stop pump cavitation?

A: At pump suction, the flat-bottom design keeps the fluid level constant. Because air pockets cannot form along the pipe top, cavitation damage caused by vapor bubble production is prevented.

Q: Is it possible to weld titanium reducers to stainless steel pipes?

A: Galvanic cells produced by direct welding hasten corrosion. For critical applications, specify whole titanium piping systems or use titanium-to-stainless transition connections with enough insulation.

Q: How long does it usually take to get custom sizes?

A: Our 3,000-ton inventory ships standard sizes in 7–15 days. Including material preparation, forming, heat treatment, and inspection, custom specifications take 25–35 days to complete.

Q: Do you offer documentation for material traceability?

A: Each shipment has dimensional inspection reports that meet ASME B16.9 standards, mill test certificates, and heat number traceability.
