Titanium Grade 2 Flange: Industrial-Grade Piping Solution from China's Titanium Valley

Founded in 2004 and listed on China's NEEQ in 2017, Baoji Jucheng Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. uses its 120,000-square-meter manufacturing facility in Baoji, China's Titanium Valley, to produce industrial titanium grade 2 flange components. With a minimum tensile strength of 345 MPa and a yield strength of 275 MPa, our Grade 2 flanges satisfy ASTM B381 F2 forging standards. With more than 20 years of experience in titanium fabrication, an annual production capacity of more than 500 sets of titanium equipment, and 3,000 tons of year-round titanium inventory, we provide precision-engineered flanges in sizes ranging from NPS 1/2 to 48 in accordance with ASME B16.5, DIN 2631-2638, and EN 1092-1 standards.

What Makes Our Titanium Grade 2 Flange Your Corrosion Solution?

Made from commercially pure Grade 2 titanium (UNS R50400), our flanges solve significant industrial issues that stainless steel is unable to.

The material instantly forms a stable TiO2 oxide covering when exposed to oxygen. This self-healing barrier layer prevents catastrophic corrosion when exposed to oxidizing acids, seawater, and wet chlorine.

With a density of just 4.51 g/cm³, our titanium flange weighs 45% less than 316L stainless steel. This weight advantage results in lower structural loads for offshore platforms and chemical processing plants.

Compared to high-strength alloys with a minimum elongation of 20%, grade 2 offers superior formability. This ductility facilitates installation and permits thermal expansion in piping systems.

Manufacturing Process Excellence

From raw materials to the final product, our production adheres to stringent quality standards.

Step-by-step construction:

Selection of titanium ingots → CNC machining → Bolt hole drilling → Precision forging → Controlled heat treatment → Surface polishing → Standards marking

Before being shipped, each titanium grade 2 flange is put through a thorough inspection. In order to avoid hydride embrittlement, we keep the hydrogen concentration below 0.015% while monitoring interstitial components via Inert Gas Fusion analysis.

Internal voids in forged components can be found via ultrasonic testing (UT). Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) checks the surface integrity of weld bevels and machined faces.

Compliance with ASME B16.5 tolerances is guaranteed by dimensional verification. EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Reports detailing mechanical characteristics and chemical composition according to heat number are included with every shipment.

Industry Applications You Can Trust

Our flanges are used in challenging settings in a variety of industries:

Marine Engineering: Grade 2's resistance to pitting corrosion caused by chloride is advantageous for seawater piping systems. Offshore platforms preserve pressure integrity while lowering structural weight.

Chemical Processing: In oxidizing acid environments, materials resistant to crevice corrosion are required. Our flanges maintain their structural integrity in solutions comprising nitric acid, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide.

Aerospace: Reducing weight has a direct effect on fuel economy. Titanium flanges minimize aircraft bulk in hydraulic systems without sacrificing strength.

Food and pharmaceutical: Non-toxic, non-magnetic properties satisfy strict hygiene criteria. Smooth machined surfaces in sanitary plumbing prevent the growth of bacteria.

FAQ

Q: What is the highest temperature at which Grade 2 flanges may operate?

A: In the most of situations, grade 2 titanium flanges function dependably up to 315°C (600°F). We suggest Grade 5 or Grade 7 substitutes for greater temperatures.

Q: How can I avoid galling when assembling a flange?

A: Treat bolt threads with anti-seize chemical. Avoid overtightening and use the correct torque sequences. For every class of flange, our expert team offers torque parameters.

Q: Can you produce flanges according to certain drawings?

A: Yes. After reviewing your specs, our engineering team creates custom flanges that precisely match your material and dimensional criteria.

Q: Which gasket materials are most effective when used with titanium flanges?

A: Compressed fiber gaskets, expanded graphite, and PTFE offer superior sealing. Steer clear of copper-based gaskets as they could lead to galvanic corrosion.

Q: Do you offer documentation for material traceability?

A: EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Reports with complete chemical analysis, mechanical test findings, and heat number traceability are included with every order.
